Hello, I created an account to ask this here. I posted to The Gear Page (here) but wanted to bring it here for a more technical explanation.

I have multiple pedals on my pedalboard that have a TRS MIDI In jack and no MIDI Thru jack. Is it possible to make a splitter cable or a "daisy-chained" cable to connect multiple pedals to one TRS MIDI Out from my controller? All the pedals use the same MIDI protocol and are on separate channels.

I've had a look at the answers on TGP, and I would have thought they were quite technical enough! I cannot beat that!

BUT, I suspect NOT the answer you wanted?

No, you cannot make a CABLE to do the job. You need more than that. Just a cable will not supply enough power, and it will not work.

I think that you need a Midi Hub. Could be a fairly simple (i.e. less cost) as you just need to split the signal into a number of separate signals, but each OUT signal needs it's own power source to drive it. The power could all come from the same plug/adaptor, but it would need to be rated/designed to supply multiple circuits. I have a USB Hub that works in the same way.

Thanks @Geoff. Yeah the answer finally clicked with one of the last comments on there. I appreciate the response.
