Hello,
I'm not sure whether this is the correct forum, but maybe someone can help me with this.
I own a MFC-101 and a xy-Midi Pad which I would like to control an AxeFx Standard with. I don't want to use a Midi Merger as I am sacridicing the 2-way-communication from the MFC-101 and the AxeFx. So I was wondering if there was some possibility to filter the midi cc#s sent from the xy-pad and then convert them to two individual signals (one for the x-axis the other for the y-axis). Finally I would like to send these two signals to different TRS Expression Pedal Input jacks.
I know this sounds kind of complicated but I can't think of any other possible solution...
Kind regards Stefan
A MIDI Merger in the MFC-to-Axe cable would still allow the data in the other cable (from the AxeFx to the MFC-101) to go through.
I am not aware of any hardware device that directly converts a CC to an analog expression signal. In general, it would be a better idea to use MIDI messages for the entire control chain. Is it possible to configure the XY MIDIpad and/or the AxeFx so that they send/receive the same CC message to control expression? If not, you have to insert a device to translate message; this is usually the computer with some software like the Bome MIDI Translator.
Thank you for your answer! Unfortunately 2-way communication between Axe and MFC is working via one cable and unfortunately I can't get it to work with two cables either. Yeah, I am about to think about a software/computer solution for this whole problem...
