Couple of questions/comments about the new forum:

Will accounts be updated to allow avatars?  Currently I can not find a place to upload my old one.

Will images and attachments be restored?  They are currently missing from all posts I have checked.  It appears external links still work, but they are not colored or marked in any way to indicate that they are links.

It also looks like tags from the old forum didn't translate properly, such as quoted items, which now show like:

[quotePost id=13662]Hi Jason, I'll be interested to hear how much success you have converting SPC to MIDI. That is a hero's journey. 😀
[/quotePost]

rather than being in a visible quote block.

We are still working on details of the forum migration.

For example,  the number of posts and status (Jason is a an Honorable Member with 397 posts) was just updated in the last 24 hours.

Thanks for the feedback and we will do what we can to restore avatars and images.

My account already had my avatar in it, but I can't edit it yet. My account currently says "You should have minimum number of approved posts to be able edit your profile information". I wonder if that will change after I make my first post? Here's how to get to your account page: In the gray menu bar at the top of the forum area, go to My Profile and choose Account. On any of your own posts, click the gear icon under your avatar.

Also, plain quote boxes (that didn't link to a specific reply) use annoying all caps text. In the post editor, the {;} button lets you edit the source code of your post. To override the font in the quote box, I'm considering using the following kind of code for now:

<blockquote style="font-family: sans-serif; text-transform: none;">This is a test.</blockquote>

Which looks like this:

This is a test.

Yes! After making my first post, my account page lets me edit account information, and my profile page has populated with my number of posts.

Here are some other problems I have noticed:

Can't edit posts

I can't edit any of my old posts. (For example, I might want to edit them to add missing attachments, or update out-of-date information.)

When I make a new post, it looks like there is only a very short window to edit posts. After I submit the post, I see icons for editing it, but if I navigate to another page and come back, it looks like it can no longer be edited.

Profile listing of posts missing titles (hidden links)

When I look at my lists of posts on my profile, most of the posts do not have a title, so it's hard to find the link to the post and click on it. (You have to click on the text that shows the first part of the post body, then press Shift+Tab to back up to the hidden empty-text link to the post.) Example: Currently on Bavi_H Activity page 2 none of the post links are visible because they have no titles.

Will the new forum also have better security for creating accounts?  The spam has already started :/

Yes, we already have non-MIDI advertising items appearing, how someone might think these relate to MIDI I do not know. The ability to delete such items may have been lost in the changes? This needs to be restored.

I've noticed that on the main forum page, it will show the date/time of the most recent update to a particular sub-forum, but once you go in the sub-forum itself, only the date of the original post is shown.

1. I've tried to look up my old posts,  and the Activity section of the user profile does list my previous replies, but there are no links to the specific topic and post,  only a link to the specific forum. Please include the links to actual forum posts on the user's Activity page.

2. When I click the Search icon and enter my username, it doesn't find anything either, so I need to open Advanced Search and select "Find Posts by User". The username is case-sensitive though and there is no auto-fill, so I need to know the exact spelling. Please add direct link to Advanced Search and either extend the Search box to look-up for user names as you type, or allow the search to find partial matches and/or ignore case.

Wow, you really need to be a powerful Jedi with profound Force sensitivity in order to actually use this forum's software...

And what's up with ALL-CAPS text in the quote?

It's unfortunate CSS. 🤣

- I'd like to be able to change the date format for post dates.  US East Coast here, month/day/year preferred.

- The mobile version of the forum main index page is not great.  I'll try to follow up with a screenshot.  The titles should probably be above the content.  Currently, they are side by side so not much is shown at all.
