Is there a way to run both midi and power in one cable?

Unfortunately, no, that would require a USB connection.

Also, is there a way to run this wirelessly to eliminate any cable between the two?

That would require that each keyboard be connected to a device that would wirelessly transmit/receive MIDI messages. Currently, I don't think such a device exists. Our current level of technology definitely cannot transmit power wirelessly, so that's out of the question.

Well, I believe Eddie (above) is correct, BUT...

You prob could use a single 'cable', but you'd in effect need to find or make up your own cable. And take account of the maximum length of midi cables (I don't know off-hand what that max length is, but the longest ready made midi cables I've seen were 6m?).

You'd HAVE to keep the power connectors in the cable quite separate from the midi ones, and protect each from the other, as I'm certain that the components behind midi connectors at each end would NOT survive contact with mains voltages. Any damage to a cable in use could be FATAL for all the keyboards attached.

Your cable would then have to split at each end into power cable and midi cable. With appropriate connectors.

Then it's the matter of mains interference messing the midi signal. With the difference between the 'frequencies' this may not be a problem, but I'm sure midi cables are screened anyway, so you should screen the midi cables within your bespoke cable.

So, might be 'possible', but surely quite impractical.

I certainly would NOT advise use of such a cable with any remotely valuable keyboard in any environment where said cable might have any chance of damage.

Just looked up about length of midi cable.

6m or so is the max recommended for normal cable, but if you use much higher quality of cable you could get MUCH longer connections, say 400ft.

But NB - the people saying that, and they'd done substantial tests they say, are trying to sell their 'superior' midi cables!!

But also, at that sort of length, the risk of possible degradation of the midi signal from the mains (50 or 60 Hz) signal, would be MUCH higher.

You'd have to make a whole new standard and composition of cable and break all the rules of keeping data and power seperate, not running in parallel, just the cable spec would make it prohibitive.

Blootooth midi is new but Windows now makes provision for it in Win 10.

Also wireless midi has been around for a while.
