Hello. I'm learning to use Cubase and one of the features is the ability to add MIDI Devices within Cubase so that you can select patches from your hardware synths by patch name (instead of by number). When setting up the devices, I see an option come up by default for "bank select 14 bit". I know what the MSB/LSB numbers are for my synths, but I have no idea what those numbers are in 14 bit. How can I find out what the 14 bit numbers are?

Thanks
Mark

I am only guessing, but MSB * 128 + LSB?

Yes, that would be the way to construct a 14-bit value from two 7-bit values.

However, bank numbers are typically not shown as a single number but as separate MSB and LSB numbers.
You should use the option that allows you to use separate values.

Thanks for the quick response! In Cubase, the Inspector only has one field for Bank Select, unfortunately. I can use my MIDI Controller to send the individual MSB & LSB numbers, though. It's just faster to type it in from the DAW. Now that I know how to construct it, I can use that method for my synths that use MSB LSB numbers. Thanks again. I learned something new today:)

People use forum when they face any problem and ask other about different questions. Such devices that you mentioned are very rare in use. Writers use to have eye on essaywritinglab review to get unique ideas for learning the art of article writing.
