This issues is for MIDI.ORG in general and not related to an OS. Connecting a (DIY) MIDI 2.0 device cause the notebook to stop starting (no screen, just black), unplug the device and reboot works fine. Not sure if MIDI 2.0 descriptors causes some problem with specific BIOSes (USB keyboard/mouse emulation). This issue is specific to a Acer Aspire 3 A59 notebook.
