When is the MIDI 2 Scope available?

The article on the front page mentions that it should have been released in 2019 (but the article was published on 01/01/20).
Are there any other tools or repositories available to test new hardware and start extending the old ones?
Finally, is there a proposed time resolution for MIDI 2.0 files? Is it still measured in PPQ?

The MIDI 2.0 testing tools are currently available for MMA members. This may change in the future, but will be up to each developer to make that decision.
Once the specifications are released I would imagine some tools will be released not long after 🙂

Where does it say that? In what paragraph of the article?

The MIDI 2 Scope application will be available in both source and pre-compiled binary formats later in 2019 via both the Art+Logic and MIDI Manufacturers Association websites.

Did you click the "Join the MMA" button to get access to the Scope tool?

Where does it say that you need to be an MMA member to get access to that tool?
And if you need to be a paying MMA member, then why announce it publicly?

The section you are quoting from is headed with "1.8 Why Join the MMA (MIDI Manufacturers Association)" and goes on to describe the advantages of joining, including getting access to the tool you mention.

And if you need to be a paying MMA member, then why announce it publicly?

How would anybody know that there was something to join if it wasn't publicly announced? I'm not sure what you're asking here.

I was quoting from: https://www.midi.org/articles-old/midi-2-0-scope
I don't see any sections headed with "1.8....." but there is this page: https://www.midi.org/join-the-mma
Clicking on the "Join the MMA" button brings me to my own profile, which seems to suggest I am already a member. But there is no download section for the scope tool.

The article on the front page

When you posted that, I went to the front page and clicked on the "Learn More" button which got me to the article which has section 1.8 that I was referencing.
It would have been helpful if you had linked to the actual article you were talking about rather than making a reference to the front page, which I now see has more than one article that mentions the scope tool.
The article you reference does not say whether the tool will be publicly available or only to MMA members, so we will have to wait for an official response from the MMA as to it's availability.

Ah, I see. No wonder we both were citing different texts.
My bad! Thanks for the clarification Eddie. 🙂

I hope non-MMA members can get our hands on the Scope tool.
I notice some of the WebMIDI wizards lurking around, their testing tools won't be too far behind I suppose. Florian Bome and the Roli/Juce guys probably have a good headstart on their updates too.
This is without a doubt the most excited I've ever been for a collection of spreadsheets. Almost there... 😉

Hi --

I don't know when I'll be able to make the MIDI 2 Scope application available yet -- I expect that the MMA's first priority here is wrapping up document publication issues for the spec docs before deciding on the issues surrounding availability of developer tools.
