I am stuck. I am trying to automate a steam calliope for a personal steam boat (12V DC valves). Hardware: Raspberry pi with Rosegarden, Highly Liquid MD24 decoder with, AKM320 USB keyboard & midi controller. I seem to be getting an active signal on the MD24 when sequencing Mickey Mouse Club from the Pi. The key board is not activating the decoder that has been observed. So I think the active signals are from notes at the range limits. I will pay someone to help me get this thing to work. Is there a better way on a short budget? Is there someone in the Pacific Northwest of USA that can help.
The goal is a set of Christmas songs for a local Parade end of November.

Did you ever resolve this? Came across your post while searching for steam Calliope on google. Would be interested in knowing more about your project.

I'm in California but have experience in this area...
