I recently bought a new computer that uses the same operating system as my previous one (the only difference being that my old one is a lenovo and my new one is a Hewlette-Packard). I am trying to connect my Midi Keyboard (an AKM 320 that uses a USB cable), and while it shows up under "Devices and Printers" in the control panel, it doesn't show up as a MIDI input device when I run cakewalk.

I have tried uninstalling it from the devices manager, unplugging it and plugging it back in. I'm using Windows 10. It worked fine on my Lenovo. I apparently do not need to install a driver for it. It won't show up on any of the software I use, not Polyphone, Synthfont, or Cakewalk.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,
~Jordan

Please post snapshots of your "Devices and Printers" screen and your Cakewalk MIDI Devices screen.

I see that it is showing up under "Sound, video and games controllers" but not under "Software Devices".
Try plugging it into other USB ports on your computer. Hopefully they are not all USB 3.0 ports.

I tried it, and it didn't work. I have also tried uninstalling the USB composite devices from the device manager menu, and it still wouldn't work. I've checked the system requirements in the AKM 320 manual, and they all check out.

Sometimes you have to download a driver from the vendor site. New drivers are often installed with operating system updates, Even if the keyboard works without downloading a driver, downloading the official driver sometimes adds capabilities. This sounds like your case.
