Hi all! I'm working as a tracs & MIDI technician for a couple of artist and are building a redundant system with a iPad as the main MIDI controller. The iPad is connected over network MIDI and and it's a beautiful setup. But it's a small pain having to always reconnect the iPad in the network midi session. Do anyone cnow if there is a way to make the iPad the initiator of the session or if there is another way the iPad can auto-connect to the network session?

I think this tip will work for you
This is a simple tip on how to auto-connect your iPad with the audio/midi setup.

First, you need to check the “Settings” on your iPad and go to “General” and then “Bluetooth”.

Next, you need to enable “Show Bluetooth in menu bar” on your mac.

Once you connect your iPad to the mac, it will show up in your Bluetooth menu bar.

Then, what you need to do is hold down the option key and select the “Connect” option from the menu bar.

I got around this problem by using Better Touch Tool on Mac and then programmed in steps to open midi settings then move mouse to the position of next clicks required to connect the iPad. It now takes around 6seconds. It is now fully automated and I don’t have to do the repetitive task every time. Consider it as a loading screen in a game 😉
