The Interactive Audio Special Interest Group Launches the AI WIKI

IASIG Announces Launch of the AIWG Wiki: A New Public Resource for Understanding AI in Audio

The Interactive Audio Special Interest Group (IASIG) today announced the public release of the AIWG Wiki, a new, freely accessible knowledge base created by the AI for Audio Working Group (AIWG).

The announcement will be highlighted at the 32nd Annual Town Hall Meeting, Thursday March 12 at 4:30pm in the West Hall Room 2018 at Moscone Convention Center, during the 2026 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.

The AIWG Wiki is designed to help audio professionals, educators, students, and developers gain a clear, organized understanding of the rapidly evolving landscape of AI tools and methods for audio. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape music creation, sound design, dialogue systems, and interactive audio workflows, the wiki provides a central, community‑driven resource to track emerging practices and technologies.

Hosted at https://aiwg.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page, the AIWG Wiki offers high‑level guidance and curated information across several key areas of interest, including:

  • Best Practices for AI in Game Development — covering ethical use, workflow integration, and responsible deployment of AI‑assisted audio tools.
  • Voice & Dialogue — exploring AI‑driven dialogue generation, voice synthesis, performance augmentation, and interactive narrative systems.
  • Sound Effects & Foley — examining procedural sound design, AI‑assisted foley creation, and hybrid human‑AI production techniques.
  • Music: Generative & Adaptive Systems — outlining approaches for AI‑generated music, adaptive scoring, and real‑time compositional tools.
  • Education & Training — offering guidance for instructors, students, and institutions preparing the next generation of audio creators for an AI‑enhanced future.

The site does not allow anonymous updates and requires a MiraHeze ID that is at least 24 hours old in order to be able to contribute.

As a living document, the AIWG Wiki will evolve alongside the industry. Both IASIG members and the public are invited to contribute, ensuring the resource remains current, diverse, and reflective of real‑world practices. Anyone interested in participating can sign up directly through the site to help expand and refine the content.

“Our goal with the AIWG Wiki is to demystify the AI audio landscape and give creators a reliable starting point,” said Alexander Brandon, Chair of the AI for Audio Working Group. “By opening this resource to the public, we’re encouraging a collaborative, transparent approach to understanding how AI can enhance—not replace—the craft of interactive audio.”

Contributors to the launch of the AIWG Wiki include Dolby, Roland, Funky Rustic, MoForte, Audio Alchemy Inc., A3E, and the Game Audio Institute.

The IASIG is the official audio SIG of the International Game Developer’s Association (IGDA) in partnership with The MIDI Association, and is a long‑standing non‑profit organization supporting the advancement of interactive audio, is sponsored by Audiokinetic, Dolby, FMOD, East‑West Sounds, and Roland.

The launch of the AIWG Wiki reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering informed, ethical, and innovative use of emerging technologies across the global audio community.
