Artinoise ‘zefiro’ is a portable device that transform a smartphone from a communication device into a musical instrument in moments. The device works by being plugged into the USB-C port on a smartphone where it will go to work with a free downloadable (iOS and Android) app providing users with the ability to play it like a recorder. The app offers access to 32 different sound options that will enable players to emulate a range of instruments.

The Artinoise ‘zefiro’ and ‘zefiro PRO’ can also be used as a way to control external devices and software instruments as a MIDI breath controller. It also open inclusive uses up to implementing a user interface for people with disabilities. The device is characterized by its low-cost profile when compared to other solutions on the market.

Zefiro is the first and unique breath controller designed to be used with any smartphone. We’ve embedded the key technologies of the Artinoise re.corder in a diminitive form factor which uses the universally adopted Type-C. zefiro is a class-compliant MIDI device, allowing it to be used in ANY environment, starting from our app, to VST and hardware synths. It also can be used with programming language (MSX/MSP, PureData, etc..) and even Python to implement fantasy musical instruments and gesture based user interfaces. Both newbies, professionals and makers can use the zefiro as a light, cheap and agile instrument!
