Elevator Pitch

Songscription AI

Product Description

Songscription AI

At songscription.ai, users can input their audio or MIDI file and within minutes, get the corresponding MIDI file, MusicXML file, or sheet music.

Our technology has exciting implications across the music industry: learners will be able to learn any song they want without having to play by ear, producers can create MIDI files from their jam session and edit it in their DAW, and performers can get the transcriptions they need to practice a song before a gig.

How It’s Innovative

Songscription develops cutting-edge, in-house AI that automates the traditionally laborious process of music transcription. We currently have two core models – both of which rely on MIDI. One of our models is capable of listening to a single-instrument audio and outputting an accurate MIDI representation of the audio. The other takes in a MIDI file as input and converts it to readable sheet music.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

We’ve seen users upload cherished recordings of original piano performances from loved ones who have passed. Using Songscription, they’re able to transform those memories into playable sheet music—some learning the music themselves to keep it alive, others sharing it with bands to be performed at weddings or memorials.

Expansion Plans

Currently, we’re best at single-instrument transcription, particularly piano. But our vision goes far beyond this. Our future roadmap includes:

Multi-instrument and full-orchestra transcription – Accurately convert complex audio into MIDI, identifying individual notes and their corresponding instruments.

Flexible arrangement generation – Transform any type of audio (pop song, solo piano, full band) into MIDI or sheet music arranged for various formats (e.g., solo piano, ensemble, orchestral).

Adaptive complexity – Dynamically adjust the difficulty of arrangements to match a user’s skill level.

AI-assisted generation and editing – Allow users to prompt creative tasks such as “Generate a MIDI to practice I–IV–V–I progressions in C major” or “Make this section more jazzy.”

Expanded output formats – Support additional notation types like guitar tablature, chord charts, and the Nashville Number System.

Commercialization

On the D2C side, we operate on a freemium business model: free limited transcriptions, with a monthly Pro tier subscription that offers longer audio uploads and expanded download options.

On the B2B side, we offer an API for other businesses to integrate our technology into their platform.
