Elevator Pitch

seqMPEror 2

seqMPEror 2 turns MPE gestures into a playable instrument — sequencing, routing and mapping expression across any synth, controller or Push, standalone or inside Live.

Product Description

seqMPEror is an MPE sequencing and expression engine for Ableton Live. Instead of drawing automation, you record and shape gestures — poly pressure, slide and per-note pitchbend — and sequence them per MIDI channel, giving every note its own independent movement.

Version 2 adds five expansion modules (seqMPEror Receiver, seqMPE One MAP, Multi MAP, CC MAP and seqMPE Push), full Push 2 / Push 3 / Push 3 Standalone integration, and new sequencer modes including trigger, gate and chord, alongside many workflow refinements.

How It’s Innovative

Three things set it apart.

First, it makes MPE universal: the Receiver module converts any non-MPE VST into an MPE-like instrument, and also works as an MPE MIDI router — each channel can go to a different layer, drum, external synth or modular system.

Second, it frees MPE data from the instrument. Through the MAP modules, poly-aftertouch, slide and poly pitchbend become ordinary Live parameters, so a finger gesture can drive sends, volume, effects — anything, on any device, MPE or not.

Third, on Push it stops being software. Gestures are played directly on the hardware, several at once, and seqMPEror becomes an instrument rather than a plugin.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

On Push 3 Standalone, seqMPEror becomes the missing centre of a studio or live setup — a self-contained expressive instrument with no computer involved, where several gestures are performed and layered by hand in real time.

Beyond performance, the same engine drives auto-generative installations: continuously evolving MPE sequences feeding hardware and modular systems, extended with sensor input and DMX lighting, so gesture and expression control sound and light from one source.

Expansion Plans

Next steps focus on three directions: deeper standalone hardware support beyond Push 3, so seqMPEror can run as an independent instrument; further expansion modules, including extended sensor and DMX integration for installations and audiovisual work; and wider platform availability outside Ableton Live.

We also plan to expand the library of controller-specific setups — following the custom Embodme Erae integration — so every major MPE controller has a tailored, ready-to-play configuration, and to develop content packs and preset collections built around the new sequencer modes.

Commercialization

seqMPEror is sold directly through seqmperor.com. Version 2 will be released as an upgrade for existing users and as a full package for new customers, with the five expansion modules included in the main product rather than sold separately.

Growth is driven by video tutorials, artist demonstrations and collaborations with MPE controller and instrument makers, plus dedicated presets and setups for specific controllers.
