SC-1 MIDI Controller

Imagine a midi device that compliments the full functionality of your equipment while providing total synchronization with with your gig set-list.

Product Description

How It’s Innovative

I keep a spreadsheet preset list which maps MIDI program change to preset. For each new gig set-list I run an application (PC/ MAC) which downloads a (.json) file to the SC-1 (my product). The SC-1 then has all the songs for the night in order and I can step through them with a button push. It would be literally impossible to use my gear (the Headrush MX5), or any other similar device for live performance otherwise as we go from song to song in a second or two and finding the next MX5 preset would be awkward at best. I am not aware of any other MIDI device on the market that uses this easy setup method and has the capability of the SC-1.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

I am an electrical engineer/ programmer and musician and over the years have seen a need for a device that makes live performance easier, or even possible, using keyboards and/or multi-effects processors. I’ve owned many different devices that I realized could have used a companion controller to bring out the full capability of the gear and make it easier to use. So I developed one and am using it currently along with my Headrush MX5 for all of my live shows.

Expansion Plans

I currently have a “near production ready” solution, including a complete mechanical design, electrical design, application software, and product firmware. I am looking for an interested partner to bring this product to market. I am 100% confident that this MIDI product fills a void in the MIDI music equipment industry marketplace, it just needs visibility of those musicians and manufacturers who have been looking for a solution to enhance their product capabilities and facilitate their live performance experience.

Commercialization

I am interested to partner with manufacturers of midi-controlled gear or Bluetooth applications to incorporate our technology as a stand-alone device or built-in addition to an existing product line.
