S32
Product Description
S32 is a standalone MIDI processor and macro controller designed for hardware, software, and hybrid setups.
It combines 32 high-resolution macro knobs, a stackable MIDI processing engine, flexible routing, and built-in LFO modulation in one performance-focused device. Each knob can control up to 4 MIDI messages or internal parameters, while the MIDI racks can process, transform, animate, and route MIDI in real time.
The built-in LFO system can modulate any parameter inside the racks, including MIDI effects and connected device controls. LFOs can also modulate other LFO parameters, creating deeper movement, evolving modulation, and generative performance possibilities.
Everything can be configured directly on the device, making the S32 useful both as a hands-on controller and as the central MIDI brain of a live or studio setup. It also has a companion CV16 module, which converts MIDI to 16 channels of high-resolution CV for modular and semi-modular systems.
How It’s Innovative
S32 is innovative because it combines several MIDI workflows that are usually separated into different devices: hands-on control, MIDI processing, routing, and modulation.
Unlike a typical MIDI controller, the S32 does not only send MIDI messages. It can process, transform, route, and animate MIDI in real time using stackable MIDI effects and internal LFOs.
Each of the 32 knobs can act as a macro, controlling up to 4 MIDI messages or internal parameters at once. This allows one physical control to shape several devices, effects, or modulation sources together.
The S32 also keeps the workflow fully standalone. Users can build and adjust performance setups directly on the hardware, without needing to rely on a computer editor during performance.
Most Inspiring Use Cases
The most inspiring use of the S32 is turning a complex MIDI setup into a playable performance instrument.
A musician can connect synths, drum machines, effects, modular gear, and software, then use the S32 to control, route, transform, and modulate the entire setup from one place.
For example, one knob can control several parameters across different devices, while MIDI effects generate harmonies, sequences, rhythmic patterns, or evolving variations. Internal LFOs can then add movement to MIDI outputs or effect parameters, even on instruments that do not have built-in modulation.
This makes the S32 especially powerful for live electronic performance, improvisation, hybrid setups, and generative MIDI workflows.
Expansion Plans
S32 is designed as an expandable platform.
We plan to continue developing the firmware with additional MIDI processing tools, modulation features, performance workflows, and deeper standalone editing options.
The S32 is also designed to work with external modules, including the CV16, which expands the system into modular and semi-modular setups with 16 channels of 16-bit MIDI-to-CV output.
Our long-term goal is to keep expanding the S32 as a central MIDI and modulation brain for hardware, software, hybrid, and CV-based setups.
Commercialization
S32 is currently available for pre-order through SHIK, with dealer and distributor availability planned through our sales partners.
The product page is live, pre-orders are open, and production planning is underway. The expected availability is around September 2026.
S32 is planned as a commercial product for musicians, producers, live performers, and studios using hardware, software, or hybrid MIDI setups.
