Orbita is a music device that helps to play music creatively. It is a physical object together with an online platform. Users can play by putting colored magnets on a spinning plate. They can choose sounds on Playtronica web app. Orbita uses a multisensory approach for education, using colors instead of notes. It turns the process of learning into a game, making the lowest effort to study music. It makes the music process accessible to a wider audience. For professionals, it is a new tactile approach to electronic music creation, producing, and performing.

We make products to experience music with the lowest effort. We are focusing on how our senses can be played with to make music, by focusing on a multisensory approach. We also create experiences for our users, building community and facilitating education and creative development. Due to a lack of state-level policy regarding music education, many children have no music teacher in their school building. Scientific and academic studies have shown that music education improves academic achievement, builds communication skills, fosters creativity, develops teamwork and increases engagement in school.

Here are some concepts that inspired our vision of Orbita: • Synesthesia. Music and visual arts share the concepts of tones, patterns, composition, and harmony. Orbita allows everyone to blend the boundaries and have a multisensory experience. You can compose tracks by splashing colors onto the canvas. Or paint by following the melody. • Minimalism. Like color, like sound – we prefer our devices clean and sturdy, with no excessive controls, packaging, or ornaments. Simplicity attracts wisdom, fosters creativity and after all, it is an ultimate form of sophistication. • Analog tactility. We value the opportunity to stay connected and creative away from the screens, in the world of tangible objects. If you are like us, this will feel refreshing. • Science. Orbita allows you to be precise. We keep thinking of the best solution for a visual code to help you build the perfect order. There will be 12 colors and 4 orbits to stick them to, which gives us 48 sounds to play with – the size of a small electric piano. Use it to play complex music pieces, explore visual math, create polyrhythms, adapt the open code to your needs. • Playfulness. In the play, there is no such thing as a mistake. Improvise, play anything that comes to your head. Drop the magnets spontaneously and see what works. Scratch that and start again. Have fun! • The Present Moment. Time plays a vital role in music sequencing. Orbita lets you work with time physically, hands-on, as you would do on a live set.
