The Oakboard Floor Vista MIDI foot controller lets performers see and control the setlist on their playback computer with minimal distraction to the performance.
-
The Oakboard Floor Vista is a first-of-its-kind setlist MIDI foot controller used by musicians who perform with a show computer. Simply create your setlist in a compatible software application on your show computer and map the controls accordingly. The Floor Vista will see the setlist, three songs at a time, allowing the user to see which song they are launching and controlling at a glance. Onstage musicians can control the show with subtle foot presses, without needing to be looking at an onstage computer screen.

Playback techs are already a ubiquitous backstage fixture for the world's biggest touring artists. Bands who perform without a traveling tech, or who simply would like to start and stop their own songs on stage, consequently need to have a large computer screen on stage and in their line of sight. The US patent pending Oakboard Floor Vista is a stompbox-sized device that uses MIDI system exclusive communication to update a small yet bright OLED screen, making the process of onstage show control a much more discreet endeavor.

The Oakbaord Floor Vista is already being used in live performances and stage shows around the world to help artists who want more independent control cue up their setlists. Users report that it frees them to focus on the experience of the music instead of their computers.
-
The Oakboard Floor Vista relies on standard MIDI 1.0 protocol messages over a USB cable to connect to a host computer.

I am already producing the Oakboard Floor Vista in limited quantities of up to 200 units at a time. My company will produce a new design of this product in the coming months that will allow use of MIDI 2.0 and further separate this product from others in the category.

The moniker of my company is Stage Tools for Story Tellers. We manufacture hardware, produce software, and create content that helps users experience "painless playback." I am currently working with 3 different businesses to expand the use of the Floor Vista with other software playback solutions. I am also working on updated versions of my hardware and designing new devices that continue to help our Oaktone's thrive in a live setting.
