How It’s Innovative

MONTAGE M OS implements MIDI 2.0 Protocol high resolution data for note velocity, polyphonic and channel aftertouch, Super Knob, pitch bend, modulation, assignable knobs/sliders, foot controllers and sustain. Also implements USB MIDI 2.0 which allow user to connect MIDI 2.0 support DAW on macOS.

Expansion Plans

Over time Montage M’s MIDI 2.0 features will be expanded to support other MIDI 2.0 Channel Voice Messages (Control Change, Registered Controller, Assignable Controller, etc) with other MIDI 2.0 products supporting the same features.

Commercialization

Montage M is marketed and sold as Yamaha’s flagship synthesizer. With significant market share and long history, Montage M and its successors will continue leverage the advantages of MIDI 2.0 going forward.
