Elevator Pitch

MIDI Xplorer

MIDI Xplorer helps musicians discover, preview, analyze, transform, and perform MIDI ideas instantly, turning existing MIDI libraries into playable, scale-aware creative instruments.

Product Description

MIDI Xplorer is a MIDI discovery, preview, and performance tool for composers, producers, and musicians. It scans MIDI libraries, detects musical information such as key, scale, chords, tempo, tags, instruments, and note content, then lets users preview files with matching instruments, perform on top of them in scale, trigger detected chords, record MIDI input, and drag the resulting MIDI directly into a DAW.

How It’s Innovative

MIDI Xplorer turns static MIDI files into an interactive composition environment. Instead of only browsing filenames, users can understand the musical structure of a MIDI file, hear it with intelligent instrument matching, see detected scales and chords, and perform new parts that stay musically compatible. Its Play Mode system lets users switch between single-note input, chord triggering, and file-derived note/chord performance, making a MIDI library feel like a playable instrument.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

A producer can open an old or unfamiliar MIDI library and immediately turn it into new musical ideas. They can select a MIDI file, see its detected scale and chord progression, play compatible notes from a MIDI keyboard, trigger the file’s chords from low keys, experiment with beat-synced chord performances, record the result, and drag the new MIDI into their DAW.

Expansion Plans

Future development will expand MIDI 2.0 and MIDI-CI support, improve intelligent scale and chord detection, add more performance styles, deepen DAW integration, improve library tagging and search, support more platforms, and continue evolving MIDI Xplorer into a complete creative hub for MIDI composition and performance.

Commercialization

MIDI Xplorer is a new commercial software product for macOS, available as a standalone app and plug-in format for DAW workflows. The product is sold directly through the MIDI Xplorer website, with ongoing updates, tutorials, and user support.
