I connect my Clavnova midi piano to my I pad pro, no problem, I can use apps to get better piano sounds etc. Real problem is how do I get audio out to another device like my digital recorder? I’m sure this must be a well known issue because Apple took away the headphone socket with the I pad pro and loads of people must have the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.
I know NOTHING about IPad of any sort, but I looked on the internet and I see there's a 'dongle' that you plug into the USB-c connector (I think the same connector that you use for charging etc) and this specific little box has a 3.5mm headphone connector, and I think it will allow other audio connections. Maybe this will solve your problem?

Thanks Geoff, I think I know what you mean but I fear that the usb c connector will allow you to charge the I pad while still listening through the headphone socket but I am not sure if it allows midi information to be passed through at the same time. I have looked at various you tube clips and haven’t found anything that provides a clear solution, but I am waiting for an e mail response on one item, thanks for your interest. Ps it is really frustrating because I can access some wonderful sounds on my I pad apps but bu cannot get them to my recording desk which is what I used to do with my old I pad. It is also not to easy to keep using the old I pad because the apps are not supported so easily I.e. they go out of date.
