Hello,
I have a Roland A-500 pro that can work on 2 midi channels on 2 sections called upper and lower, I set it as
midi ch1 for upper
midi ch2 for lower
if I play upper part the sustain works correctly
if I play lower part the sustain works correctly as well
but
if I play in DUAL mode = layering Upper and Lower, the sustain works only on Upper part
(that's because it's mandatory to define an Active Part on this master keyboard)
anyway
with the editor I can assign to sustain pedal a free message or a sysex message
I tried something like
"B0 40 DT B1 40 DT"
with Data type 7 bit
but not accepted
it accepts B0 40 but it's not regular sustain
Have you any idea / suggestion?
Many thanka in advance
best regards
I just checked with an Edirol (by Roland) PCR-300. Unfortunately, it seems that "DT" can only be included in one copy of the SysEx and Free Message definitions, so the messages "B0 40 DT" and "B1 40 DT" can be programmed to it, but "B0 40 DT B1 40 DT" message is not possible.
Since the Edirol PCR-300 / PCR-500 / PCR-800 series are the predecessors of the Roland A-300PRO / A-500PRO / A-800PRO series, the A-500PRO probably works the same way.
I just tried the Roland A-PRO Editor for Windows v1.01 program. It is as I thought: if I enter more than one DT in a System Ex. or Free Message type definition, I immediately get the following error message:
"There is a mistake in the message you input."
New Connecting sustain pedal to Roland PC200 Mk2 controller keybard. ... New Sysex Message for sustain on Roland A-500 pro.
