I have a Yamaha PSR S 750 and an old M-Audio Midi USB interface, it works but there is latencey and only one note playing at a time, no polyphony.
The computer is new so it should not be a problem.
I use Reason and Musescore.
Downloaded MIDI-OX and it shows no input or output devices, but non-polyphonic sound is audible in both
Reason and Musescore.
I also in my hunt to fix this installed ASIO4ALL 2.14, but nothing seems to work.
To sum it up, connection YES, chords NO .
Here is a pic of the M-Audio :

As usual, more information please.
For starters, how are the devices connected, which bit is supposed to be providing the midi data, and which bit is supposed to be making the noises?
The fact you have latency (but you don't say what degree) suggests that there is a problem with a connection, so maybe the USB interface is not installed correctly (what OS are you using, and how does this show the midi interface)?
What channels are you using? Does the one note appear on a specific channel, with the missing notes on other channels? Maybe the sound making bit is set wrongly?
Geoff
Thank you for answering.
I am a newbie when it comes to midi but channels as stated in this link is important:

Here are the connections made a bit cleraer:

The degree of the latency is about half a second.
I am on the latest installment of WIn 10 and:
Intel Core I7-7700K 4.2 GHz
16 Gigs of ram
PCI-express SSD 512
Geforce 1080ti
Again thanks for your response.
Hello.
Most questions NOT answered.
The first document you attach tells me nothing about how YOU are using channels, i.e. which channel(s) your data is being sent on, relative to what is actually sounding. The document, as far as I can see, relates to standard midi use of channels, which may or may not relate to what you're actually doing, or to how your devices are set. For example, if the Yamaha is supposed to be the sound generation device, it may not be set to the correct mode and/or may not be set to receive data on all channels. It is quite normal for something like a keyboard to be set to receive on certain channels ONLY, even just one or two, even if it CAN receive on all 16 channels. What does it default to?
The second link shows a standard USB/MIDI interface, and tells me very little. I might guess that the USB connector goes to the computer. Does the IN, or the OUT, or BOTH, MIDI connectors go to the keyboard. I understand (I've never used one myself) that the cheaper interfaces of this tyoe are OFTEN prone to problems, including latency, and there is no way this can be corrected other than to try other units. Usually more expensive, I'm sorry to say.
Regarding Windows 10, if you have things connected/set up, if you go into devices you should be able to check that you have a midi device, and how that is set. What is showing?
If you tell Windows (no other software involved) to play a midi file (is Canyon.mid still provided?) what happens?
Geoff
Thank you for the detailed response.
The problem is solved:

I had another cable lying around and it fixed everything.
Thank you Geoff
