MIDI command conflicts using multiple controllers

Hi all. I'm a DJ who currently uses Traktor Pro 2 on Windows 7 with a Denon MC6000 midi controller/mixer at the same time as using 2 x Allen & Heath Xone K1 controllers either side of the MC6000 in my setup.
I'm having issues with 2 of the volume faders (A+C) on the left side of the Denon MC6000 controller. I've checked all the mappings for errors but it is obviously a hardware issue, meaning two of the channel faders have stopped functioning. To counter this issue I have attempted to add another midi controller (an Akai AMX controller/mixer) to my set up so I can control the respective channels using that. However when I try to incorporate the Akai AMX I am getting numerous conflicts, such as when moving the crossfader on the AMX it will simultaneously move the gain on channel A. I've used trial and error for weeks changing the mapping but I'm unable to fix the issue.I can find very little info regarding the Factory settings and midi codes on the AMX and whether it is possible to change the channels and CC commands. I'm beginning to think many of the functions on the AMX are hardcoded into the controller without the possibility to change them. I've tried using MIDI-OX but I'm a relatively newcomer to it and I'm finding it difficult to fully understand I'm sure it is possible to reroute the commands but with my limited knowledge the solution is eluding me. Can anyone offer any advice please ?

Hello,

I'm just making an initial guess, but...

Most devices default to sending midi data on certain channels, and receiving on certain channels. Most allow these channels to be set/changed if you want to do something different.

Maybe your previous setup worked because things tied in with the defaults, or how you had things set. Now that you've changed one or more of the devices, things are slightly different. You need to keep checking the channel settings. You don't say how things are working exactly, but one thing that might be happening is that you are sending the right data on the right channels, but there may be some wrong data on other channels as well.

You need a chart. Consider ALL the devices as a complete system. List the 16 channels, and check what is sending on each channel, and what is receiving on that channel. If you send data on Ch 1, and two devices can receive on Ch 1, then both devices will respond to that data, like it or not.

Thanks Geoff. I guess I'll have to persevere with MIDI-OX to determine which commands are going to the same channels and attempt to change them accordingly.
