Hello everybody,
I got the job:
I have to save 130 piece of .mid files in .mp3, once with glockenspiel, once with TubularBell / Church Bell and once with the TubularBell / Carillon instrument.
For that I would look for the best program. I currently use FruitLoops and can only save the files individually.
Is there a simple, small program for this task so I can convert the files in bulk?
Thank you for your help,
András

ps. My English is bad, i know, but i hop my problem is understandable

Not clear.

Do you need to play each .mid file three times, i.e. once with each of the three instruments?

Or play each file once, with three instruments set on three channels?

I assume that each version will need to provide a separate .mp3 file (130 or 390 ?).

There are midi file players that can use a PlayList, which will automate the playing of the 130 files. There is at least one player that will play to a .mp3 output (like SynthFont), but I don't know if there is ONE player that will do BOTH, and I doubt there will be one that will allow the swapping about of instruments.

By the way, are the required instruments set as program Change within the midi files, or will you need something that can automate that as well?

Getting a fairly tall order?

Hallo Geoff!

Thx for your answer!
So, i have 130 pieces of .mid files.
I muss to convert all to .mp3.
3 times, 1 with glockenspiel, once with TubularBell / Church Bell and once with the TubularBell / Carillon
So i mus have all the 3 x 130 = 390 pieces of .mp3 files.

This .mp3-s files will play in church.

I made it now, with FruitLoops program, one by one.
Is there any other easy litle program for this work?

It will better a program, what can automate this converting-s.

Which instruments can use in .mid?
Is possible to hear all the instruments, or have a list about instruments?

Thanks,
Andrew

Sorry that you had to do it the long way, but I suspect there is no other solution for all the things you want.

I'm not familiar with 'fruitloops', but maybe it supports a full GM sound-set, so you can easily get a list of all 128 voices/instruments that are supported. If it will load external sounds/samples, then this will be dependant on what is in the SF2 (soundfont) file currently active?

If the midi file you're trying to play has a Program Change (PC) command in the data, then this could mess up any external setting. For what you were doing, it would be better that the midi file does NOT have any PC command in already, in which case the file will play with whatever is set by the playing program - I'd guess that this is how you did it, and the files you were playing do NOT have any PC within.

Again, since you asked, the dounds/instruments available will be totally dependant on the software/hardware used to play back. If it's a digital (virtual) system then just the software. As opposed to playing through an external sound module (Yamaha, Roland, etc).
