Hi everyone,

I’ve been exploring how MIDI software can be used beyond traditional music production — particularly in web-based interfaces. I’m working on a project that turns food menu navigation into an interactive experience powered by MIDI input.

The idea is to let users browse restaurant menus using MIDI controllers — creating a fun, tactile interface that bridges tech and everyday life. I’ve used WebMIDI APIs to connect MIDI devices to browser actions, and I’d love to hear your experiences with similar setups or unconventional MIDI use cases.

Have any of you:

  • Used MIDI software for UI control in non-musical environments?

  • Integrated DAWs or MIDI routing tools into interactive art or web interfaces?

  • Experimented with browser-based MIDI applications?

I’d appreciate any software recommendations (open-source or commercial) that help route, visualize, or customize MIDI input/output beyond the studio.

Feel free to check out my prototype at <a class="" href=" removed link " target="_new" rel="noopener" data-start="1203" data-end="1255"> removed link — feedback and technical suggestions are most welcome!
