HI,
in the 80s I worked with the legendary Notator (Atari) with great satisfaction as it was possible to work directly on the Pentagram and with Midi language.
Today Notator is no longer around, so I'm looking for an equivalent for Windows.
Some time ago I purchased Cubase Professional, the user interface was more aimed at audio than at the musical staff. So I gave it to a music school in Verona (also it was very complex).
I need a DAW that has these requirements:
- is it a software with which I can interact directly on the staff?
- Can I use Program Change, Control Change, System Exclusive, etc. modifications?
(For precision on Exclusive System: can I, for example, write this numeric which is used by some Roland modules to pass from an Enter GS to the GS output with this decimal string?
For Enter GS
65 16
66 18 64 0 127 0
65
Notator read this string and sent it via Midi to the Module (RA90 Roland)
- Is it possible to write a score manually?
- In conclusion, can it be (as far as I'm concerned) a DAW that allows me to work on the score via MIDI language?
