[#4982]

I’m looking for a small number of Windows users to participate in a private test of MIDI Command Studio — a desktop utility that turns MIDI controllers into configurable control surfaces for Windows applications.

The app maps MIDI notes, CCs, and faders to keyboard shortcuts, macros, and app/system volume, with per-device presets and LED feedback.

I’m inviting 5–10 experienced users with MIDI hardware to help validate the install, device handling, and core workflow before a wider release. Testers will receive a free license for the full version.

It's already quite a powerful tool for people who want to control windows with their MIDI devices.

If you’re interested, please reply or DM with:
– Windows version
– MIDI controller(s)
– Typical use case (e.g. editing, streaming, productivity etc)

I’m currently using Windows 11 with a <a title="“MIDI Workflow Tester – Windows Users Wanted”" href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener">MIDIcontroller for workflow automation and custom shortcuts. I’d definitely be interested in testing how MIDI Command Studio handles device mapping and macros in real-world use.

Just wanted to come back and update this thread, and say thanks to everyone who got in touch or showed interest when I was looking for testers. The feedback and ideas genuinely helped shape the project.

Testing finished quite a while ago and MIDI Command Studio has grown a lot since then. It’s now released and being used to control Windows apps with MIDI devices — shortcuts, macros, app/system volume, preset switching, and deeper controller integrations including LED, LCD and motorised feedback on supported hardware.

It’s also been interesting to see the different workflows people have found for it beyond what I originally expected when I posted here.

Development is ongoing, with continued improvements focused on usability, workflow refinement, compatibility, and expanding what MIDI hardware can do outside of traditional DAW environments.

If anyone is curious what it evolved into, you can have a look here:

Thanks again to everyone who tested early versions or offered feedback along the way.
