I use a music studio with ProTools outputting to a MIDI interface and synthesizers. I would like to write a program in basic that will generate midi commands. I would like to know how to direct the program to output that MIDI number to the USB port.

It would help those, who want to help you, to know what operating system you are using and what flavour of BASIC you have.

I don't have access to the Mac platform, but a simple Internet search for purebasic and MIDI produced many results.
I recommend you post your question in a purebasic forum for more specific answers.
