Hi all, I'd like to add some echo to my drum note 38 or 40 only by using Sysex. Can this be done?
I use the Roland MC50 mk2 with the Roland SC8850 Module. Any help would be gratefully recieved.. Joe..

Hi Joe,
In my experience it's not possible to add an effect to just one or two notes, the effect would have to be added to a channel.
Probably assigning the snare notes to a separate channel and applying an insertion effect to that channel would be the only way.
As I recall it requires three SysEx messages.
1. Select the effect type.
2. Set the level.
3. Assign the effect to the appropriate part.

That's just a quick summary.

Hi John, Thank you for your reply. I will experiment with adding a drum track to another channel..
Regards, Joe.

Yes, you can change the amount of reverb, chorus and delay per note on the SC-8850. See page 240 (Drum setup parameters) of the Owner's Manual.
