Elevator Pitch

MidiCard Plus V2

The MidiCard Plus V2 is a tiny credit-card sized class-compliant USB C piano keyboard housed on a small purple PCB.

Product Description

The MidiCard Plus V2 has 25 spring-loaded non-clicking buttons to mimic piano keys. It’s extremely portable and has octave controls, sustain, modulation, and full polyphony. Although it’s not touch-sensitive, it has a velocity toggle with three different levels. It has silkscreened keyboard markings for visual playability.

How It’s Innovative

The MidiCard weighs .4 oz, is 1/4″ thin and is only 4.5″ x 2″. You can fit it in a purse or a pocket and truly take it anywhere. The firmware that it runs on is open source.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

I have used the MidiCard on planes, to run warmups with a chorus, plugged into an iPad to play parts, with Dorico and Finale to notate music, and with a sequencer to program music.

Expansion Plans

Touch sensitivity, enclosures, 5-pin MIDI, and MIDI 2.0 are all being considered.

Commercialization

I sell the MidiCard on my online store, makerproducts.art.
