Musirion

Musirion uses in-house AI to turn solo-piano audio and video into editable sheet music, MIDI, and MusicXML for musicians, teachers, arrangers, producers, and creators worldwide.

Product Description

Musirion is an AI-powered web application that converts ordinary solo-piano audio or video recordings into editable transcription drafts.

Users can review the generated sheet music and piano roll in the browser, download a standard MIDI file for further work in MIDI-compatible software, or export MusicXML for notation editors. No MIDI keyboard or original project file is required.

How It’s Innovative

Most MIDI workflows begin with a MIDI-capable instrument or an existing sequence. Musirion reverses this workflow by recovering structured MIDI performance information from ordinary audio and video recordings.

Its in-house music AI detects note pitches, onsets, durations, velocity, and sustain-pedal information. A second processing stage analyzes rhythm, measures, tempo, voices, and staff assignment to produce editable MusicXML notation.

This makes MIDI-based workflows available for acoustic-piano performances, legacy recordings, lessons, rehearsals, and videos where the original MIDI data never existed.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

A pianist can record an acoustic piano performance using an ordinary phone, upload the recording to Musirion, and receive an editable MIDI and sheet-music draft.

The result can become the starting point for arranging, teaching, practice, a piano-roll visualization, music production, or a polished score—without replaying the performance on a MIDI keyboard or transcribing it manually from scratch.

Expansion Plans

The immediate priority is improving solo-piano transcription accuracy, particularly for dense chords, expressive timing, sustain pedal, ornaments, noisy recordings, and complex rhythmic notation.

Planned product improvements include better editing and review tools, longer recordings, richer MIDI and MusicXML workflows, and integrations with established music-production and notation software.

After strengthening the piano workflow, Musirion will evaluate API access, professional and educational use cases, batch processing, and support for additional instruments based on user demand and transcription quality.

Commercialization

Musirion is currently available as a free public alpha so that the product and transcription models can be improved using real-world feedback.

Following validation of the core workflow, the planned model is a freemium SaaS product. Free access will support evaluation and occasional use, while paid tiers are expected to provide longer transcription limits, higher processing volumes, priority processing, and professional workflow features.
