The core idea of Divisimate is to split up chords on the keyboard into individual musical voices and then spread them across different instruments in the sequencer. Since every voice can be routed and modified individually, full realistic orchestrations built from virtual instruments can be played and recorded live. Where version 1 allowed to create up to 32 parts at once, Divisimate 2 introduces Multitimbral Ports, utilizing the MIDI Channels of each port to address up to 512 instruments at once.
One of the biggest new additions is the Arpeggiator plugin, which comes with a “Basic” and and “Expert” mode. While the “Basic” mode has all the things that are to be expected from an Arpeggiator, the “Expert” mode opens up a lot of possibilities to build custom phrases, textures and melodies. Another new plugin, the Transformer allows the user to apply realtime operations on incoming notes and controllers.
While Divisimate 1 was only available as a standalone version, Divisimate 2 can be used as a VST, AU or AAX plugin in the DAW as well, much like their recent release Divisimate Micro.
Other new features include:
– Transition Modes
– Multipad Editor
– Preset Import
– Section Headings
– Custom Perform Page Numbers
– Global Keyswitch Area
