RTP-MIDI

RTP-MIDI (RFC 6295) – is a specification for sending/receiving MIDI 1.0 messages using networking protocols.

RTP-MIDI (RFC 6295)- is a IETF standard for sending/receiving MIDI 1.0 messages using networking protocols (Real-time Transport Protocol and Internet Protocol).
RTP-MIDI includes a data recovery mechanism (MIDI event journaling) to address packet loss that can occur on networks, eliminating the need for packet retransmission (which would increase latency and reduce throughput).
The MIDI Association has recently adopted a Network MIDI 2.0 specification for MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0. We recommend developers use this newer specification.
