OFFLOOP Web MIDI Sequencer

Product Description

OFFLOOP Web MIDI Sequencer

OFFLOOP is an HTML web browser based 4 channel 32 note sequencer. Each channel can loop to a different loop length and the offset can be modulated creating a unique style of pattern morphing. Split preset management divides sequences and song structure into separate parts with the 32 step song automation section able to sequence from fast to incredibly slow for gradual mutation of parts. Each of the note sequencers has dual note delays with transpose which can also be forced to song key. Presets can be imported and exported as text making bulk generation possible. Sessions are saved on rejoining, data is saved in the browser. Simple internal sound generation or midi output. Record movement from faders into the sequencer chanels.

How It’s Innovative

Using 32 steps but only looping a part of this. Moving the offset (the start and end) keeps the loop in time with variations at the end or beginning of the loop and can create an massive amount of variation from a limited number of steps.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

Using OFFLOOP i have been able to create long song style sequences, arranged with a key song structure table that is usually impossible with sequencers with subtle changes running throughout the song. Also I am able to test sequences with different key structures. It just sounds great!

Expansion Plans

I am interested in developing a standard for sequencer note storage which contains additional information such as key root note, scale, song transposition and a tempo map in addition to usual note storage. The offset loop method is a good way to compress data.

Commercialization

I plan to build this in hardware with the presets to be interchangeable between the Web app and the Python based hardware device, with MIDI 2.0 compliance.
