IMI PlayAlong — Adaptive Musical Interface

IMI PlayAlong is a smartphone/PC app paired with the imKeyZ, an accessibly priced touch-sensitive MIDI keyboard controller. Players can play along with their favorite MIDI files and also sync to MP3 audio so the player hears themselves performing within the actual recording.
The core principle is “no wrong notes.” In NoteAssist mode, every note sounds right, freeing the player to focus on what matters most — emotional expression, timing, and the personal touch that makes music their own. No musical training required. Players progress from NoteAssist through graduated levels to Concert tuning — standard instrument response with no assistance. The imKeyZ uses proprietary XactFSR force-sensing resistor sensors, invented by Franklin Eventoff (founder of Interlink Electronics/NASDAQ: INLK) and manufactured by Sensitronics. XactFSR delivers continuous, proportional touch response — the same sensor technology found in high-end digital instruments worldwide. The imKeyZ is optimized for the PlayAlong app, but the app works with any standard MIDI controller — keyboards, drum pads, adaptive switches, and other devices.
