Flufs: An accessible real-time & offline loudness meter

Product Description

Flufs: An accessible real-time & offline loudness meter

Flufs is a state-of-the-art Max for Live loudness meter, designed for both real-time and offline analysis. It’s fully accessible to blind, visually impaired, and sighted users.

Flufs can analyze multi-channel audio files, normalize to a loudness target, and, if you’re into data science like me, export loudness data to a CSV file, either in single or batch mode. It analyzes a 5-minute audio file in just 1–2 seconds.

Flufs is very light on the CPU, to the extent that you won’t even notice it on modern computers. It features a resizable floating window, 11 color themes (including options for color blindness), and 19 industry loudness target presets. It also integrates seamlessly with popular screen readers like VoiceOver and NVDA, making it compatible with braille displays and other assistive technology. Every feature is accessible via keyboard shortcuts or tabbing.

How It’s Innovative

Every single feature in Flufs is accessible and interfaces directly with native OS accessibility, benefiting different classes of disabilities.

See MIDI Innovation In Action

Most Inspiring Use Cases

The most inspiring aspect of Flufs is its ability to function as a single device accessible to all users without special modes, enabling seamless collaboration between artists from diverse backgrounds.

Expansion Plans

I am currently working on a smart MIDI mapping mode that makes all Flufs parameters easily accessible for mapping to any MIDI controller.

Commercialization

Flufs is available as either a free or paid download. Both versions are identical – it’s simply a way to ensure that everyone can access it, regardless of their ability to support my work.
