MIDI-2.0 SMF and midi2 clip ontainer specs define a standard MIDI-2.0 clip file format (using Universal MIDI Packets)

I'm interested in whether any DAW devs are actively working on the portion of MIDI 2.0 that would allow external querying and updating of MIDI clips in an open DAW project by external hardware that "speaks" MIDI 2.0.

This is for external editing of the data not live MIDI stream playback.  Although one would want to be able to have the DAW *do* live playback *even while* any MIDI clip is being edited externally ( providing a "Commit" sends edited MIDI back to the DAW )

This concept focuses on external editing of MIDI data, not live MIDI stream playback. However, it would be ideal if the DAW could still perform live playback while any MIDI clip is being edited externally, allowing a “Commit” command to send the updated MIDI data back into the DAW seamlessly.
