Tiniest Violin

Elevator Pitch

Tiniest Violin

Product Description

Tiniest Violin

A web based operating system that can be reconfigured entirely from within the web browser was used to create a synthesizer as one demonstration of the platform. The tiniest violin is the silliest entry point to an entirely new way to think about computers and their relationship to the arts.

How It’s Innovative

The tiniest violin is the tip of the iceberg for an entire computing platform. It is primarily used as an introduction to programming and the entire operating system can be remixed using the same primitives used to program the synthesizer that is the tiniest violin midi interface. In the example video, the guitar is an example of the evolution of the tiniest violin, which is categorized in the operating system as the application “Final Boss”.

Most Inspiring Use Cases

Much of the research that preceded the tiniest violin was around using video game controllers as synthesizers. That brought me in close contact with much of the gaming community as well as medical technology communities. At the intersection of both is being able to create accessible human computer interactions for people left behind by mainstream, mass market approaches to creating technology.

I’m excited about the prospect of being able to help connection and healing potential of the technology.

Expansion Plans

Better sounds and better actuators.

Commercialization

Much of the commercialization efforts have been around the core platform and using it to build web-based products. The educational aspect of the platform is ready to go to market, the tiniest violin being one example of code that can be remixed to encourage and foster the learning process, specifically for digital literacy and learning to code.
