It appears the last MIDI friendly Windows OS out there was XP.
Every release since XP has been more and more MIDI hostile.
As time has progressed passed XP more and more otherwise working MIDI and audio interfaces have had to be replaced due a lack of viable driver and/or OS support.
I've been using MIDI pretty much since the begining.
It is almost impossible to find a replacement for my Audio Interfaces that will work in Windows 10 without an update killing it.
It just purchased a Behring UCA222
Windows 10 keeps tagging the recording end of the interface as ( Microsoft USB Codex - Mic) instead of (Behringer USB Line)
The Output side of the interface fine right of the box.
The result is that none of the Audio processing Sonar, Audascity and the like refuse record from it but sends output just fine.
Interfaces I ran in the previous OS versions worked just fine.
I choose Behringer because my last sub mixer was from them and I was very pleased.
It also was one one the few interfaces that bothered to mentioned Windows 10 as one of Windows it could deal with.
Does any one have bead on what replacement hardware is still working with DAWs running in Windows 10?
AMD A4 Quadcore laptop 1.80 GHz
