Hello everyone, I'm not sure if I'm trying to over complicate things so I wonder if anyone could help me. I'm currently bringing back sound modules that I haven't used for quite some time. An akai s2000, an Emu Proteus 1000 and a Yamaha TX802. The S2000 I'm using for fx and triggering it from a set of Roland bass pedals, the Emu and Yamaha I'm triggering from an Alesis Vortex. I essentially run 2 midi rigs, is there a midi router or patch bay or gadget that I can get which will allow me to hook up the bass pedals, vortex and any of my other keyboards so that I can change sounds more easily. I'm thinking that I should be able to get a single unit that I can program so that say patch one on it will bring up a sample on the s2000 playable from the bass pedals and sounds on other modules that can be played by the vortex but not triggered by the bass pedals. I hope I'm being clear enough or perhaps I'm just over complicating things and I should stick to running 2 separate rigs. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It's possible. The way I would do it would be to use an iConnectMIDI interface. The iConnectMIDI4+ will give you all the connections you need straightaway but if you're happy to use MIDI Thru on one of your modules plus multiple MIDI channels you could get by with a cheaper iConnectMIDI2+. In order to send the program changes you also need to hook in an iPhone or iPad or laptop to the iConnectMIDI, running a suitable app that sends program changes. Suitable apps for iPad or iPhone are for example Midibridge, iMIDI Patchbay, SetListMaker or OnSong with MIDI add-on. I use this type of setup both in my studio and live. In the studio I use an old iPhone 4 that is now solely dedicated to patch changing, running MIDIbridge. Live I use an iPad to display scores/chords/set lists but set up with OnSong+MIDI add-on so that when I change chord chart in OnSong it sends program changes to all the devices hooked to the iConnectMIDI.

Once again, thanks Bruno. I've had a look at the manual and set up information, you're right it does look exactly like what I need, all so looks straightforward to set up too. Once I'm in a position to order I'll have to get in touch with them.
