MIDI logo SVG ?

What do you mean by 'like' the image at the top left of this page?

You could of course borrow that very image, just click on it and save it. It's already a .SVG image. Of course, this assumes that your use of the image would be 'legitimate'. Having saved the image, you might edit it, using a standard graphice package?

Geoff, in my browser the logo is in PNG format, which is a raster format. The OP wants the logo in a scalable, vector format like SVG.

Your point about legitimate use is important. I invite @Sema to read the MMA Trademark Policies.

Right - I now see that the reference to SVG is merely the thread title transformed into a link, and does NOT relate to the image. Shows what I know about image files - or about SVG type anyway!

After a little research, I would guess that there IS a SVG image somewhere. It is quite possible that this data file (actually .XML text ?) may be available to full members of the MMA for legitimate purposes as part of the organisation's promotional support activities.

I did some checking regarding the SVG image format, and I note that web sites that discuss this show images referred to as being SVG, but what comes through to my computer is actually a PNG. This is reasonable, as I'd guess that the full specification data for a SVG image may be fairly large, and the overhead to scale and display at the user end may be substantial, so the process may well involve the server doing this, creating a scaled PNG file (MUCH smaller data-wise) and sending that through rather than the full vector data.

Maybe TMA will, in due course, explain the availability of their logo data.

IF and HOW can I get the MMA permission to use the image.

I am planning to release a free browser extension that will play embedded MIDI files on the web pages.
Obviously, that will never bring enough revenue to cover the MMA membership fee.
I need to have a small icon on the MIDI settings button that would unambiguously show the button's action and I thought the small "MIDI" logo would be a great choice for that.

MMA staff, any suggestions?

I thought browsers could already play embedded midi? Do you need such an extension?

Or was this correct ONLY up to Windows XP, which had a built-in Virtual Synth/midi play facility? This facility is, I understand, now 'broken'. I've read that it can be re-enabled in W7, but it's not exactly easy, and you may need 3rd party software for W8 and W10, so it's clearly NOT built-in any more.

If your proposal relates to W8 and W10 (and later) then it could well be needed.

Of the modern browsers, only Internet Explorer still can play midi files in <bgsound>, <embed> and <object> tags.

But anyway, I think I don't really need any logo on the button.

Currently MMA licenses logos to identify when a product does something specific. For example, devices, apps and content that comply with MMA's "General MIDI (GM)" specification(s) may display a GM logo. That logo signifies that these products offer similar/compatible features

MMA does not license the "MIDI" logo by itself, because the logo would not tell the consumer anything specific (the logo does not signify that the products offer similar/compatible features).

We do see the value in having a logo that indicates that products use MIDI technology, but we must make sure that logo is not otherwise misleading. While we do not currently have a solution for that, we are thinking about it.
